The Lido's latest development plans

Our plan for 2023

We have recently been made aware of a rumour going around the lido detailing plans of an extensive refurbishment of the changing facilities.

We want to reassure everyone that this rumour is false and take this opportunity to confirm our exact position.

We recognise that we must look at investing in some key areas to ensure the future viability of the lido and to also meet the needs of our whole community.

These are:

1. Green energy initiatives to reduce our reliance on carbon fuel and ensure we control our energy expenses
2. Improve accessibility across the facility
3. To ensure maximum safeguarding
4. To consider ways to deliver an all year round wellbeing experience

However it’s very important that we stress that the lido will remain the focal point of all that we do.

The stages we have undertaken so far are:

1. Key stakeholders engagement process
2. Feasibility Study

We do not have a plan for the facility at this stage, when we do we will share the concept with the lido community and all key stakeholders.
