Is there parking onsite?

We have a large car park suitable for over 163 cars which sits directly outside of the Lido. Parking fees start at £2.20 Both coins and cards are accepted and you can also pay by phone. It’s a great location if you are using the hospital, local parks or walking into Cheltenham Town Centre.

Where possible, we encourage that you walk or cycle to the Lido. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Do you have lost property?

Items that are found at the end of the session will be kept for 2 weeks, after this they are sent to charity.

Can I borrow goggles from lost property?

Accepted Answer

No, unfortunately we are unable to do this, however, you can purchase from reception.

What if I forget to pay for parking?

Is parking included in the entrance fee?

Accepted Answer

No, please pay for your parking at the machine before you exit the car park. The camera system will have recorded your entrance time and the machine will advise the relevant fee.

Is the pool heated

Accepted Answer

During the summer season the main pool is heated to approximately 25 degrees and the children's pool to 30 degrees.

Can I use snorkels in the pool?

Accepted Answer

Swim training snorkels are allowed but only in the lanes and not in the free swim section of the pool.

We do not allow the use of general snorkels and masks in the pool.

Can I bring inflatables to the pool?

Accepted Answer

Inflatables can be used but this is also at the  discretion of the Duty Manager and will depend on whether they deem it safe to do so in that session.

Can I smoke at the lido?

Accepted Answer

We have a strict no smoking or vaping on site policy, anyone not adhering to this will be asked to leave, tickets will not be refunded.

Can I bring alcohol with me?

Accepted Answer

No, we do not allow alcohol on the premises during swim sessions, anyone drinking alcohol will be asked to leave, tickets will not be refunded.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Yes, there is a cafe on site that offers a wide variety of hot and cold refreshments, however, you can bring your own if you prefer. Please make sure you use the bins provided to dispose of any rubbish.

I am a Season ticket holder, do I still need to book?

We always advise pre booking, some of our sessions are very popular and we have limited capacity. If you turn up without a booking, we will do our best to get in swimming as soon as possible, but you may be required to wait especially on busy days or during lanes swims where we have a smaller capacity.

Can I bring my dog in?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed onto site during the season. If you need a support dog to be able to access the Lido and the dog is a registered support dog, please inform the Duty Manager, we do ask that support dogs are supervised by someone whilst you're using the changing facilities and swimming pool.

Can I come in just to use the cafe?

Unfortunately, we will charge the applicable entrance to the site fee.

How much is it to spectate?

We have a maximum capacity number for the Lido premises, therefore we operate an entrance to site payment policy. Everyone that comes onto site must pay the applicable site entrance fee, full paying adult or concession

Can I drive home after I have been swimming?

We advise swimmers to make sure they are fully warmed through before driving home. We want to make sure you are safe before heading home. Our staff will be available if you require any assistance.

Do you close when there is a thunderstorm?

Unfortunately during a thunderstorm,  we are required to close the pool for 30 minutes after ever clatter of thunder.

If I book the children's pool can I also use the main pool?

Yes you can!

Our children's pool swims run along side out open swim sessions. If you book a children's pool swim at 11:00-1300, you will be able to enjoy the main pool between 1300-1500.

How long can I Stay at the Lido?

Cheltenham Lido is operated on a booking basis. You will only be able to stay for the duration you have booked your swim for.

Our lane swims are one hour long, and our open swims are between 3.5 hours and 4 hours.

Do you have lockers?

We do have lockers to use whilst you are at the Lido.

You will need to purchase a locker token from reception for £1 which you can then keep for future visits.

Is the pool heated?

The main pool is heated between 24 degrees and 26degrees.

Th children's pool is heated to 30 degrees.

How do I transfer a swim booking

Accepted Answer

If you created an account in our booking system, you can log in, find your swim booking and amend in the system. Bookings can only be transferred with 24 hours notice.

I am a Blue Badge Holder, do I need to pay for parking?

The car park is monitored by ANPR cameras, which means you will be required to pay for parking.

Can I use inflatables in the pool?

Yes, inflatables can be used in the shallow end of the pool only. If the pool is too busy, the lifeguards will ask them to be removed for safety reasons.

The main pool is 50m x 27.35m and has a depth of 1m in the shallow end and 1.75-2.75 in the deep end

The children's pool is 15.9m x 7.51m and has a depth of 0.5m in the shallow end and 0.8m in the deep end.

How are queues managed on busy hot days?

We have four queues available;

One season ticket holders, who have booked,
One for paying customers who have booked,
One for Season ticket holders who have not booked
One for paying customers who have not booked

We allow all those who have booked onto site first and then we will allow entry to others customers who have not booked onto site. If we have hit site capacity, we will move to a 1-out-1-in scenario. *Please note Season Ticket holders who have not booked will get priority entry*

Can children be left without an adult on site?

We are committed to working with parents to create a safe environment for children.

All children under the age of 8 should always be accompanied by a guardian aged 16 years or over, this person may be responsible for up to two children. Guardians must maintain constant supervision particularly in the water and changing rooms. We advise that children under the age of 5 should be supervised on a one-to-one basis.

Parents have a specific responsibility for the safety of their own children, this cannot be abdicated to lifeguards. The role of the lifeguard is to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all swimmers.

Do you have a refund policy if I am unable to use the pool?

Refunds are not permitted on swim entry tickets. You will be able to transfer your swim to an alternative day or time if  you have given 24 hours notice.
